About Me.

I’m Chris Kim, a system designer focused on economy and combat design. I’m drawn to structure, fairness, and the subtle ways mechanics shape how we play, think, and feel.

I enjoy learning deeply. That introspective nature, conversations, and collaboration have become a foundation for how I approach design. It allows me to work with structure, precision, and attention to detail, which are my strengths.

Systems may appear as rules on the surface, but they are frameworks that influence how people understand, act, and adapt. When a system enforces behavior without understanding, its purpose begins to fade. It reveals meaning through interaction and clarity.

That’s how I design. Not to control the player, but to give them space to think and respond in their way. I want my systems to make sense, not because I impose structure but because the logic feels right to the player.

I try to live by the same principle. When I’ve thought something through and made a decision, I act. Hesitation weakens clarity, and without clarity, intention fades. If a choice carries meaning, it deserves to be followed through.

I see design as something grounded in honesty. It should carry intention, offer clarity, and help the player confidently move forward.

Because that’s how I believe-

A system and a designer should treat the player.
